Why We Do It
Rehema Home is a place of safety for children escaping dire domestic situations. We are a true home for children where they can learn how to live a life, learn how to love each other, and learn how to be a part of this big world.
Our Mission
For the last twenty five years, we have been rescuing orphaned and abandoned children in Kenya. Our family is now over 150 strong. We have over 50 adults who grew up in Rehema Home that still call us family and nearly 70 children ages 18 and under. Many of these children are HIV positive. We have two locations, one in urban Nairobi and one in rural Bukura.
Home & Hugs
We provide a safe and stable environment—and goodnight hugs, too!
Milk & Meals
We provide balanced meals three times a day—some ingredients we grow ourselves.
Medical Care
We cover the cost of all medical related expenses, often up front and out of pocket.
Education
We cover the cost of education from preschool through high school and beyond.
Transportation
We provide rides to school, doctors appointments, church, and more.
Clothes & Shoes
We provide clothes for every occasion—school uniforms, play clothes, and Sunday best.
Rehema Home is a registered 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax-deductible. Donor correspondence will be sent from our US headquarters, Rehema Home US Fundraising, Inc. You will receive a financial statement at the end of each calendar year. Our constitution states that no more than 20% of our budget should go towards administrative costs and fundraising. That means that 80% or more of every dollar is spent on direct care of the children or on expansion projects.
